India is a beautiful country, with colourful & captivating customs and natural beauty for one visiting the right places. Standing out uniquely among these is a region where only such colourful & captivating customs and natural beauty exists in very bit of its expanse, the state of Kerala in South India.

Kerala Engineering Alumni aims to celebrate the uniqueness of the festivities by celebrating the various cultures from the Indian state of Kerala. Kerala is a land of festivals like Onam Ghosha yathra (traditional parade during Onam) , Christmas and Easter Celebrations, Eid-Ul-Fitr and Miladi Sharif, Maha Sivarathri, Thrissur Pooram, Snake Boat Race (Vallamkalli) and..... many more.

Kerala is a land of unique values and traditional art forms. There are some unique dance forms in Kerala developed across ages and some of the unique forms are Kathakali, Ottamthullal, Koodiyattam, Nanygarkuthu, Margamkalli, Oppana Daffu muttu, and.....many more .

Kerala Engineering Alumni aims to showcase these variety of Kerala art forms in the UAE. In January 2011, the Keralolsavam 2011 was a similar festival event with an attendance of over 2000 KERA members. In February 2012, KERA aims to recreate the same magic in 2012 with bigger aura and a bigger audience.

Kerala Engineering Alumni (KERA) is formed to pool the resources of all the Engineering College Alumni Forums of Kerala based in the UAE to form a non – profitable professional body to enhance personal skills of the members, promote Indo – Arab friendship and organize activities respecting the UAE laws & regulations for the benefit of the entire society. The Objectives of this forum is to:

• Co–ordinate under one umbrella all the UAE based alumni forums of engineering colleges of Kerala
• Organize regular seminars/symposium on interesting and useful subject.
• Assist members for better career opportunities / placements etc
• Organize personality development programs for enhancing self-development, career advancement etc
• Develop artistic and cultural talents of members and their families
• Support the environment and culture.
• Provide charity services
• Organize regular meetings and get-togethers among members and their families for a close social interaction, promoting fellowship

This forum was officially inaugurated by Dr.Babu Paul at 4.30 pm on Friday 9th January 2004 at Hotel Deira Sheraton, Dubai
